80mm Polyurethane Ducting Medium Grade

80 mm Polyurethane Ducting Medium Grade is clear polyurethane ducting with a copper coated steel helix. It is a mid bore for machine branches on sawdust and chip extraction, where the abrasion resistance earns its cost.

• Abrasion resistant polyurethane wall, which outlasts PVC on any abrasive duty
• See-through, so you find a blockage by looking rather than by dismantling
• Copper coated steel helix for anti-static service once earthed

• Rated -5°C to +80°C, wider than a PVC duct

Compatibility and fitting

• Sized on inside diameter: 80 mm ducting fits a 80 mm spigot
• Fix to spigots with a worm drive clamp behind the helix
• The helix must be bonded to earth to work as an anti-static duct
• Reserve polyurethane for abrasive duty; plain fume and air runs do not need it

Sawdust is soft, so why abrasion resistance?

Because it is moving fast and it never stops. Sawdust and wood chip abrade a PVC duct from the inside at every bend, which is where dust systems fail first.

Is a smooth bore worth paying for?

On a dust line, yes. A convoluted bore drags on the airflow and traps material at every ridge. The polyurethane wall is smooth between helix turns, which keeps the run clear.
