Blue Silicone 45 Deg Elbow (150mm Legs)

A 45 degree elbow is the part that gets used when a straight hose would have to be pulled into a slight bend and would kink or pull off the spigot. These are silicone, meeting or exceeding SAE J20R1 Class A, with 5 ply polyester fabric reinforcement and a -55°C to 180°C range, and they are ozone and oil splash resistant. They are not suitable for fuel or oil transfer. Legs are 150 mm, and bores run 25 mm (1") to 100 mm (4") under stock codes SILE45100 to SILE45400.

Compatibility and fitting

• Order by bore; measure the pipe outside diameter the elbow has to slide over
• Clamp with T-bolt style clamps sized for silicone; see hose clamps
• The 90 degree version and straight silicone lengths are on blue silicone radiator and intercooler hose

When is 45 degrees better than 90?

Whenever the pipes are offset rather than square. Two 45 degree elbows will step a run sideways without the flow restriction of a right angle, and they load the clamps far less than a straight hose forced into an arc.
