Nitto Air Coupling Female x Hose

The female socket half of a Nitto style coupling with a hose tail on the back, so it clamps straight onto air hose. Sizes are 20SH for 1/4", 30SH for 3/8" and 40SH for 1/2". The socket is the half that holds the sleeve: pull the sleeve back and the plug releases, push a plug in and it locks and seals in one movement.

Compatibility and fitting

• Push the tail into the hose and clamp it with a hose clamp, two on a pressurised line
• Accepts any of the male plugs in the Nitto range of the same series
• Suits PVC air hose in the matching bore
• Series and size go together: 20 is 1/4", 30 is 3/8" and 40 is 1/2"

Can I connect a 20 series plug to a 40 series socket?

No. The series has to match on both halves, so a 1/4" plug goes into a 1/4" socket. Mixing series is the most common reason a coupling will not seat, and forcing it damages the seal in the socket.

Does a bigger coupling give more air?

It can. On a long run to a high consumption tool, a 1/4" coupling on a 1/2" hose is the restriction, so keep the coupling size up with the hose and the tool inlet.
