125mm (5") Blue Silicone Radiator/Intercooler Hose

125 mm (5") is the largest bore stocked in this range, and it belongs to heavy plant, generators and big-bore intake work rather than anything with number plates. A 5" silicone join is usually the air path between a filter housing and a turbo inlet, or a coolant connection on a machine radiator. The supplier's exclusion applies here as everywhere in the range: the hose is not suitable for fuel or oil transfer.

Compatibility and fitting

• Use a T-bolt clamp at this diameter. A perforated band has to be pulled hard to close a 125 mm join and the slots cut straight into the silicone; the clamp range carries bands built for it.

• Take the weight of the pipework separately from the hose
• Fuel and oil work goes on automotive fuel hose

Is a 250 mm piece long enough for a 125 mm join?

It usually is for a straight coupler, but check the clamp width first. On a 5" join the two bands take up more of the length than people expect, and a 500 mm piece leaves room to trim the cut square.
