About Fuel Hose Automotive SAE30R7 50psi
SAE30R7 fuel hose is the standard rubber automotive fuel line for carburettor feed, return and vent work. Hose Suppliers Australia stocks it in five sizes from 5 mm (3/16") to 12 mm (1/2"), rated to 50 psi, cut from one metre up to 20 metres or supplied on a 50 metre coil from our Brisbane warehouse.
SAE30R7 fuel hose sizes we stock
- 5 mm (3/16"): small engine, vent and return lines.
- 6 mm (1/4"): the common carburettor feed size on cars, bikes and garden equipment.
- 8 mm (5/16"): the most requested automotive fuel hose size.
- 10 mm (3/8"): larger feed lines and fuel pump connections.
- 12 mm (1/2"): transfer, filler and breather work.
For marine installations use the US Coast Guard approved barrier fuel hose or fuel filler hose instead. Small engines are often better served by clear yellow Tygon hose, and the full range sits in the fuel line category.
Choosing the right automotive fuel hose
- Size: measure the outside diameter of the pipe or barb the hose slides over, not the old hose.
- Pressure: SAE30R7 is rated to 50 psi, which covers carburettor and low-pressure feed but not an injection system.
- Compatibility: suits petrol and diesel lines. Tell us if the vehicle runs a high ethanol blend so we can confirm the right hose.
- Clamping: use a small worm-drive or spring clamp, and replace any clamp that has bitten into the cover.
