2.4mm Clear Yellow Tygon Hose F-4040A

The 2.4 mm bore is the finest Tygon F-4040A we stock, the tubing used for primer bulb feeds, breather lines and carburettor returns on chainsaws, trimmers and other two-stroke garden equipment. Because the wall is clear you can see fuel moving, or see that it is not, which is half the diagnosis on a small engine that will not prime. It carries the highest rating in the range at 50 psi, over a 0 to 74°C working range.

Compatibility and fitting

• Pushes onto a 2.4 mm barb or carburettor spigot; at this bore the interference fit normally holds without a clamp

Why does the smallest bore have the highest pressure rating?

The wall thickness stays similar as the bore grows, so a smaller bore has proportionally more material holding the same pressure. That is why 2.4 mm is rated 50 psi while the 19 mm size is rated 15 psi.
