22mm (7/8") Blue Silicone Heater Hose

22mm (7/8") blue silicone heater hose (part SILHH22) is a larger coolant bore for radiator and intercooler runs on heavier engines, where flow volume matters and the hose sits in a hot, tight engine bay. Silicone holds its properties through heat cycling where rubber hardens and splits, which is why it is specified on vehicles and plant that cannot afford a coolant failure.

Compatibility and fitting

• Sized on inside diameter: 22mm hose fits a 22mm spigot or outlet
• Use a smooth band or T-bolt clamp from the clamp range; silicone is softer than rubber and a perforated band can bite the wall
• For fuel lines use SAE 30R7 fuel hose, not silicone
• Matching silicone clamp kits are in the silicone hose range

Why is silicone blue?

Colour is identification, not performance. Blue marks the line as a silicone coolant hose so it is not confused with fuel, oil or air lines when someone else works on the engine later.
