50mm (2") Blue Silicone Radiator/Intercooler Hose

50 mm (2") is the workhorse boost pipe size and the most common bore ordered out of this range. It joins intercooler piping, radiator hoses and charge air runs on cars, utes and light trucks, and a 250 mm piece makes a straight coupler between two 2" alloy pipes. Before it goes near a workshop bench: silicone is not suitable for fuel or oil transfer, and the supplier is explicit about it.

Compatibility and fitting

• On a boost line the clamp is the weak point, so use a T-bolt or smooth band clamp rather than a perforated band, which bites into the softer silicone wall as it tightens. The clamp range covers both.
• 50 mm is the bore, so it fits a 50 mm or 2" pipe
• If the pipe measures 48 mm, order that bore instead of stretching this one
• Fuel lines take SAE 30R7 fuel hose

Is intercooler hose the same as radiator hose?

In this range, yes. The same blue silicone hose is rated for both, which is why the supplier lists it as radiator and intercooler hose: one wall specification, coolant on one side of the engine bay and charge air on the other.

How much hose should overlap the pipe?

Enough that the clamp sits fully on the pipe behind the bead, with hose either side of the band. A clamp half on the pipe end is the usual cause of a blown-off join.
