Description

Larger vessels and commercial craft take fuel faster than a 38 mm line will pass it, and that is the case for 50mm US Coast Guard approved fuel filler hose (RPOSUSCG050). A 2" bore keeps the pump from shutting off on back pressure during a high-volume fill. The hose is Continental Plicord, approved to SAE J1527 Type A2, ISO 7840 and CE, with the branding printed along the cover.

Key features

  • 50 mm (2") bore for high-volume fills
  • SAE J1527 Type A2 and USCG Type A2 approved, ISO 7840 and CE
  • RMA Class A nitrile synthetic rubber tube for gasoline, diesel and ethanol-blended fuels
  • ARPM Class B synthetic rubber cover, wrapped impression finish
  • Spiral-plied synthetic fabric with a wire helix, so it bends without collapsing
  • -29°C to +82°C
  • Cut lengths to 20 m, or a 30.48 m coil

Applications

  • High-volume fills on larger vessels
  • Commercial and charter craft fill lines
  • Fishing boat tank fills
  • Refit and survey replacement

Compatibility and fitting

  • Sized on inside diameter against the deck filler spigot, not on the outside of the hose
  • A short sweeping bend fills faster than a tight one, whatever the bore
  • Engine feed and return lines are a different approval: see Type A1 barrier fuel hose
  • Marine grade stainless clamps at both ends

Does a bigger fill hose stop the nozzle kicking off?

It helps. Fuel and displaced air have to pass each other in a fill line, and a larger bore with a properly sized vent reduces the back pressure that trips a nozzle early.

All four bores are listed in the US Coast Guard approved fuel filler hose collection.
