About US Coast Guard Approved Fuel Filler Hose
Fuel filler hose takes the awkward run from a deck filler down to the tank, so it has to bend tightly without collapsing and hold back fuel vapour while it does. This range is US Coast Guard approved and stocked in four bores, 20 mm through to 50 mm (2"), cut from 1 m or supplied on a 30.48 m coil from our Brisbane warehouse.
Sizes of fuel filler hose we stock
- 20 mm (3/4"): tank vent lines and small auxiliary fills.
- 25 mm (1"): larger vents and filler runs on smaller craft.
- 38 mm (1 1/2"): the standard filler size on most recreational boats.
- 50 mm (2"): high-volume fills on larger vessels and commercial craft.
Each size is cut to length, with coils for boat builders. Feed and return lines are covered by our USCG approved barrier fuel hose.
Choosing the right fuel filler hose
- Size: measure the deck filler spigot and the tank neck separately. The hose is sized on inside diameter and must seat fully on both barbs.
- Route: work out the bend before ordering, and keep the run as straight as the layout allows so filling does not back up.
- Approval: use hose marked for marine fuel service. Garden or general-purpose PVC hose is not suitable for a filler run.
- Clamping: two 316 stainless clamps at each end, from our hose clamps range, opposed and clear of the barb edge.
- Fittings: pair the run with marine skin fittings and deck hardware suited to the tank.
