8mm (5/16") Rubber Multi Purpose Hose

8mm (5/16") rubber multi purpose hose (part RMPT08) is the middle of the small bores, and the usual pick for a general workshop air drop that has to feed a mix of tools without being restrictive on any of them. The tube is black smooth synthetic rubber and electrically non-conductive, under a braided synthetic cord reinforcement and a red oil, ozone and weather resistant cover.

Compatibility and fitting

• Fits a 8mm hose tail; secure with a hose clamp, two per end under pressure
• Brass and stainless tails to suit are in the brass fittings range
• For petrol, diesel or fuel vapour use SAE 30R7 fuel hose, never this hose
• Keep within the -25°C to +100°C range; the cover hardens outside it

Can this hose carry oil?

The tube and cover are oil resistant, so oil transfer and oily environments are fine. Fuel is not: the hose is specifically not rated for petrol or diesel, and there is a dedicated SAE 30R7 hose for that.
