About Rubber Multi Purpose Hose
Rubber multi purpose hose is the hose most workshops, farms and hire yards buy by the coil: a flexible rubber tube with textile reinforcement that carries compressed air, water and general transfer without going stiff in the cold or soft in the sun. Sizes of rubber multi purpose hose we stock
- 5 mm (3/16") and 6 mm (1/4"): small-bore air lines, blow guns and instrument connections.
- 8 mm (5/16") and 10 mm (3/8"): the common air tool and compressor lead sizes.
- 12 mm (1/2") and 16 mm (5/8"): workshop water, machinery coolant and light transfer.
- 20 mm (3/4") and 25 mm (1"): pump delivery, washdown and irrigation runs.
- 32 mm (1 1/4") and 38 mm (1 1/2"): larger pump and tank transfer lines.
Each size is cut in 1 m, 5 m, 10 m, 15 m and 20 m lengths, with full 50 m coils to 25 mm and 60 m coils in the two largest bores.
Choosing the right multi purpose hose
- Size: order on inside diameter so the hose slides onto a matching hose tail or camlock shank.
- Fluid: air, water and mild solutions only. Use petrol and oil hose for fuel and steam hose for steam.
- Pressure: check the working pressure on the product page against your compressor or pump before you order.
- Fittings: clamp both ends. Perforated bands are fine on reinforced rubber, so a standard worm-drive clamp does the job.
