8mm (5/16") US Coast Guard Approved Marine Fuel Hose

8mm US Coast Guard approved marine fuel hose (RFUSCG08) covers the 5/16" feed lines used on portable tanks and smaller outboard installations. It is a Continental barrier fuel line, approved to USCG/SAE J1527 Type A1 and ISO 7840-A1 with CE marking, and it satisfies both the US Coast Guard and IMCI requirements for Type A1 service on marine gasoline tanks. Ordinary automotive fuel hose is not an equivalent in this position.

Compatibility and fitting

• Order on inside diameter: 8 mm hose to an 8 mm barb
• Vent and deck fill runs use the Type A2 fuel filler hose
• Stainless clamps or proper fuel-line clips, not a wire twist
• Route clear of exhaust and engine heat, and support the run so it cannot chafe

Why not use automotive fuel hose on a boat?

Because it does not carry this approval. USCG/SAE J1527 Type A1 is a legal requirement for a gasoline fuel line on a marine installation, and only a hose branded with it can be shown to meet that.
