Stainless Steel Lock Nut

A lock nut is what holds a male thread in place once it has been pushed through a panel, a bulkhead or a tank wall. It winds on behind the plate and pulls the fitting up tight from the back. Four sizes in 316 stainless — 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" BSP — carrying the same 150 psi maximum working pressure as the rest of the threaded range.

Applications

Compatibility and fitting

• Winds onto any male BSP thread of the matching size, such as a hex nipple
• Use a sealing washer or a gasket against the panel; the nut clamps, it does not seal

Why only four sizes?

Bulkhead work in this range is stocked from 1/4" to 3/4" only, which covers gauge, instrument and small hose connections. Larger panel mountings are normally made with a flange or a tank fitting rather than a threaded nut.
