125 mm Grey PVC External Rib Ducting is grey PVC ducting reinforced with a square external PVC helix. It is a larger branch or short trunk size, for machines with bigger ports and runs feeding more than one pickup.

Can I join two 100 mm branches into a 125 mm?

Yes, and that is the normal way a system steps up. What you cannot do is run two branches into a line the same size as one of them and expect both to work.

External rib or steel helix?

The external rib is all PVC, so nothing rusts and there is no metal in the wall. Choose it where the duct gets dragged about. Choose the steel helix where suction is strong enough to collapse a softer duct.
