12mm Rubber Heater Hose

RHS12mm is the small bore in the heater hose range, the size that plumbs bypass loops, throttle body heating and the short heater feeds on passenger cars and light commercials. It is a synthetic rubber tube on braided synthetic cord under a black smooth cover, made to SAE J20R3, with a working pressure of 50 psi and a temperature range of -25 to +98°C. Buy it by the metre rather than a whole coil when you are replacing one line.

Compatibility and fitting

• Fits a 12 mm coolant spigot; clamp both ends with a worm drive or spring clamp from hose clamps
• For coolant overflow to the recovery bottle use the smaller rubber vacuum and overflow hose

Is 12 mm measured inside or outside?

Inside. Heater hose is always called out by bore, so 12 mm hose slides over a 12 mm outlet. Measure the metal spigot with a vernier before ordering, because the outside diameter varies with the wall thickness.
