15mm John Guest Shut Off Valve

JGVALVE15 is the 15 mm inline shut off valve: a push fit socket at each end, a manual lever between them and an acetal copolymer body rated for potable water. Its compact size is the point, because the places a valve is actually wanted, behind a filter head or under a bunk, rarely have room for a threaded ball valve and two adaptors.

Compatibility and fitting

Is the 15 mm valve interchangeable with the 12 mm?

No. Sockets are cut to the tube outside diameter, so a 15 mm line needs JGVALVE15 while a 12 mm line takes the 12 mm valve. The 12 mm adaptor range covers 3/8 inch BSP too, which the 15 mm range does not. Both sizes sit in the 12mm John Guest fittings collection.

Can the valve be mounted in any orientation?

Its own installation is a push fit at both ends, so orientation is dictated by the run rather than the valve. What matters more is leaving the lever reachable once the panel goes back on.
