15mm John Guest Tube Insert

JGI15 reinforces the end of 15 mm plastic tubing from the inside, giving the pipe added strength where the collet grips it. Thin walled or softer pipe compresses at that point, and a compressed end no longer presents a clear sealing surface, so the insert goes in first and the tube goes into the fitting second.

Which tube needs an insert most?

Soft and thin walled pipe, which is where the wall gives way under collet pressure. Rigid thick walled tube holds its shape better, but on a mobile installation that gets remade several times, the insert is cheap insurance against a joint that seals once and then weeps.

Does the insert change the tube size?

No. It sits inside the bore, so the outside diameter the fitting grips is unchanged at 15 mm. Order by the tube already in the run and the insert follows.
