35mm (1 3/8") Blue Silicone Radiator/Intercooler Hose

35 mm (1 3/8") is one of the in-between bores that keeps a job moving when a 32 mm hose is loose on the outlet and a 38 mm will not clamp down. It is a small coolant size, used on bypass runs, heater plumbing and compact intake piping. The safety line to note: the supplier states the hose is not suitable for fuel or oil transfer, so keep it on coolant and air. Stocked as SILRH-138 for the 250 mm and 500 mm cuts, SILRH-138X36 by the metre.

Compatibility and fitting

• A smooth band or T-bolt clamp is the right choice here — perforated band clamps chew into silicone, which is softer than the rubber they were designed around. The hose clamp range covers both.
• The 35 mm figure is the bore, so it seats on a 35 mm spigot
• Smaller coolant runs are covered by blue silicone heater hose
• Never plumb petrol or oil through it; use SAE 30R7 fuel hose

Do I measure the spigot or the hose?

Measure the outside diameter of the spigot or pipe the hose has to go over. That figure is the bore you order, so a 35 mm spigot takes 35 mm hose.

How hot can it get?

The supplier rates it from -55°C to 180°C, which covers a coolant system that has boiled and a hose routed close to a turbo housing.
