45mm Marine Wet Exhaust Hose

RMWE045 is the 45 mm bore in the wet exhaust range, the size that turns up on small inboards and on gensets that have outgrown 38 mm. The steel wire helix in the wall is what makes it work in a cramped bilge: it lets the hose follow a curve without the bore flattening, and it is also the part you have to cut through cleanly when you shorten a length, since a proud wire end will chafe the clamp band.

Compatibility and fitting

• Other bores are in the wet exhaust range

How do I cut wire helix exhaust hose?

Mark the length, cut the rubber back to expose the helix, then cut the wire with side cutters and trim the rubber square. Leaving a burr on the wire is what damages the spigot when the hose is pushed home.
