Single wire hydraulic hose in a 6.4 mm (1/4") bore, rated at 3270 psi working pressure. That is the highest figure across our single wire sizes, because the same braid holds more behind a narrower bore, so this is the size for pilot and control work rather than main flow. One high tensile steel wire braid wraps a seamless synthetic rubber tube, under a synthetic rubber cover that resists weather, oil and abrasion. Cut to your length in the Brisbane warehouse.

Compatibility and fitting

• Crimp onto one wire fittings and ferrules sized for 6.4 mm (1/4") hose; a barbed push-on end does not belong on wire braid hose
• An assembly is only rated to its lowest rated component, so a 3270 psi hose on a lesser fitting gives you a lesser line
• Sleeve the hose where it rubs on a chassis rail with HDPE spiral guard
• If the relief valve setting sits near this rating, move to two wire hydraulic hose
• Drain and return work belongs on hydraulic push on hose

Why is the 6.4 mm hose rated higher than the 12 mm?

Pressure acts across the area of the bore, so one braid holds more in a narrower hose. In this range 6.4 mm is 3270 psi, 10 mm is 2610 psi and 12 mm is 2320 psi. Read the rating on the size you are ordering, never on the family.

Can I fit this hose without a crimper?

No. Wire braid hose is crimped into the fitting on a machine set to the right die and crimp diameter. Bring in the failed assembly and we will make it up.
