Single Wire Hydraulic Hose
About Single Wire Hydraulic Hose
Single wire hydraulic hose is the medium pressure workhorse of a hydraulic circuit: one braid of high tensile steel wire under an oil and weather resistant cover, flexible enough to route around a chassis and strong enough for tractor, tipper and workshop ram service. Hose Suppliers Australia stocks three bores, cut to the lengths you order in our Brisbane warehouse.
Sizes and ratings we stock
- 6.4 mm (1/4"): rated 3270 psi, for pilot lines, small rams and service connections.
- 10 mm (3/8"): rated 2610 psi, the common size on tractors and mobile plant.
- 12 mm (1/2"): rated 2320 psi, for larger cylinders and pump lines.
- Cut lengths: 1 m, 3 m, 5 m, 10 m, 15 m and 20 m on every size.
Choosing the right hydraulic hose
- Pressure: work from the relief valve setting, not the gauge reading, and leave margin for surge. Step up to two wire hydraulic hose when the numbers get close.
- Size: match the inside diameter to the fitting and the flow. Undersizing heats the oil and wastes power.
- Routing: keep bends generous, avoid twisting the hose when tightening fittings, and allow slack for a cylinder at full stroke.
- Protection: fit HDPE spiral guard anywhere hoses rub on each other or on steelwork.
