Two Wire Hydraulic Hose
About Two Wire Hydraulic Hose
Two wire hydraulic hose carries two layers of braided steel wire under the cover, which is what lets it hold the pressures that mobile plant and workshop equipment run at. We stock six bores, 6 mm (1/4") through to 25 mm (1"), each cut to length in our Brisbane warehouse rather than sold only in full coils.
Sizes of two wire hydraulic hose we stock
- 6 mm (1/4"): rated 5800 psi, for pilot lines and small-bore control circuits.
- 10 mm (3/8"): rated 4800 psi, the common size for attachment and implement lines.
- 12 mm (1/2"): rated 4000 psi, for general service on loaders, tractors and tippers.
- 16 mm (5/8") and 20 mm (3/4"): rated 3660 psi and 3120 psi, for main pressure and return lines.
- 25 mm (1"): rated 2400 psi, for large-bore return and high-flow circuits.
Lengths run from 1 m to 12 m per size. For lower-pressure work see our single wire hydraulic hose and SAE R6 push-on hose.
Choosing the right two wire hose
- Bore: match the inside diameter of the hose you are replacing. Dropping a size raises velocity, heat and pressure drop.
- Pressure: the circuit's peak pressure, not its gauge reading at idle, sets the hose you need. Work to the rating printed on each product.
- Length: measure the routed path, and allow for the bend radius at each end.
- Protection: where hoses rub, fit HDPE spiral guard before the cover wears through.
- Compatibility: standard mineral hydraulic oils suit this hose. Tell us if the machine runs a biodegradable or fire-resistant fluid.
