Description
An exhaust run rarely goes anywhere in a straight line, and 63 mm hose has to bend around a stringer or a tank without pinching. That is the job of the steel wire helix set into the wall of RMWE063, and of the corrugated cover over it, which lets the outside of a bend stretch while the inside compresses. The cover is also the part living in the engine bay atmosphere, so it is formulated to resist ozone and oil.
Key features
- 63 mm bore
- Corrugated cover that flexes through a bend, resistant to ozone and oil
- Steel wire helix supporting the bore, inside high-strength synthetic cord
- Smooth tube, resistant to exhaust gases
- 3 bar (43.5 psi) maximum working pressure
- Temperature range -30 to +100°C
- Nordic boat standard MCG, DNV, LLOYDS and VTT approved
- Available cut from 1 m to 20 m
Applications
- Inboard exhaust runs with tight routing around structure
- Charter and commercial auxiliary exhaust
- Muffler to transom legs that have to change direction
- Gas and cooling water discharge in one line
Compatibility and fitting
- Support long runs at intervals so the hose is not hanging on its clamps
- Keep bends gentle; a kinked bore raises back pressure long before it splits
- Stainless clamps to suit are in the clamp range
- Skin fittings for the outlet end are in skin fittings and marine products
- Other bores in the same construction: marine exhaust hose
How tight can a 63 mm exhaust run be bent?
The supplier does not publish a bend radius for this hose, so work to the practical test: the bore must stay round through the curve. If the corrugation on the inside of the bend closes up, the run needs an elbow rather than a tighter bend.
