76mm Marine Wet Exhaust Hose

Heat is the reason wet exhaust hose exists as a separate product, and RMWE076 is rated from -30 up to +100°C at a 76 mm bore. That ceiling is set for gas that has already been cooled by injected sea water, which is why the hose belongs downstream of the injection point and not on the dry side of it. Around the tube sit high-strength synthetic cord and a steel wire helix, under a corrugated cover that takes the ozone and oil of an engine compartment.

Compatibility and fitting

• Confirm cooling water reaches the injection elbow before running the engine; without it the hose is outside its temperature rating in seconds
• Clamp both ends with stainless bands from the clamp range

What happens if the cooling water stops?

Exhaust gas alone runs far above the +100°C ceiling this hose is rated to, so a raw water pump failure damages the exhaust hose as well as the engine. Check the transom for water flow every time the engine starts.
