76mm PVC Oil Suction Hose Blue

76 mm is the largest bore in the blue oil suction range, PSHB076, and it is bought for one reason: moving volume out of a tank or pit as fast as the pump allows. The outside diameter is 89.6 mm and the working pressure is 0.5 MPa (73 psi) at 20°C, the lowest in the range, because the same wall has the most area to hold. The rigid PVC helix keeps a bore this size open under vacuum, and the high nitrile compound resists mineral oils and animal fats.

Why is the largest bore rated the lowest?

Pressure acts on area. At 76 mm the wall is holding back far more force than at 25 mm for the same pressure, so the rating falls from 0.9 MPa on the small bore to 0.5 MPa here. Size the hose to the pump, then check the rating.
