Brass Elbow 90 Deg Hose Tail x Male BSP

The 90 degree hose tail does the same job as a straight tail but turns the hose through a right angle as it leaves the port. Use it where a straight tail would force the hose into a tight bend against the fitting, which kinks the hose and eventually splits it at the barb.

Compatibility and fitting

• Size the barb on the hose bore and the thread on the port separately
• Point the elbow before you finish tightening, so the hose leaves in the direction it needs to
• BSPT is tapered: seal with tape or a sealant suited to the fluid
• Clamp the hose onto the barb with a hose clamp

Why not just bend the hose?

Because the bend forms right at the barb, which is the least supported point on the assembly. Hose kinked at a tail restricts flow and fails there first.

Can I aim the elbow anywhere?

Within the limits of a tapered thread, yes. Tighten to seal and stop where the elbow points correctly; do not back a tapered thread off to aim it, as that breaks the seal.
