Relaxn Bilge Pump 1100 GPH 12V Submersible

BP110012 is the general purpose capacity in the Relaxn range, a 1100 GPH pump that suits most trailer boats and mid-size hulls. It moves approximately 4160 litres per hour and draws about 3.0 amps at maximum flow, so it wants a properly sized cable and fuse rather than the thin run a small pump will tolerate. The motor is ignition protected, non-burnout and water-cooled with a stainless steel shaft, and reverse polarity protection is built in.

Compatibility and fitting

• Size the discharge hose to the outlet adaptor; smooth bore hose is on PVC marine and RV drain hose
• Loop the discharge above the waterline before the skin fitting so the sea cannot siphon back in
• The smaller BP50012 and the higher output BP200012 are on bilge pumps

Does a bigger pump need bigger wiring?

Yes. At roughly 3.0 amps at maximum flow this pump draws close to twice what the 500 GPH model does, and voltage drop over a long thin run costs output. Size cable and fuse for the current and the run length.

Can it be made automatic?

It is a manually switched pump. If you want the pump to run without the helm switch, choose one of the automatic models with integrated water sensing instead of adding a switch to this one.
