Relaxn Bilge Pump 500 GPH 12V Submersible

BP50012 is the smallest Relaxn submersible in the range, a 500 GPH pump for tenders, runabouts and any hull where the bilge space is too tight for a larger body. It shifts approximately 1892 litres per hour and draws about 1.6 amps at maximum flow, which is low enough that a small battery and a modest cable run will support it. The motor is ignition protected, non-burnout and water-cooled, with a stainless steel shaft and built-in reverse polarity protection.

Is a 500 GPH pump enough?

For a tender or small runabout taking spray and rain, yes. The rated figure is an open-flow number, and real output falls once the discharge has to lift and run through hose, so size up if the pump has to work above the waterline or against a long run.

Does it switch on by itself?

No. This model runs from a helm switch. For hands-free operation choose an automatic model such as BP750A12, which has water sensing built in.
