Stainless Steel Reducing Socket

A reducing socket steps a threaded run down a size while staying female at both ends. It takes a male thread on either side, which makes it the fitting to reach for when a large male stub has to feed a smaller male fitting. Nine sizes in 316 stainless, from 1/2" x 1/4" to 2 1/2" x 2", to a maximum working pressure of 150 psi.

Compatibility and fitting

• Both ends take a male BSP thread, such as a hex nipple
• To reduce inside an existing female port instead, use a BSP bush
• To reduce between two female ports in one part, use a reducing nipple

Which figure is quoted first?

The larger one. A 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" socket accepts a 1 1/2" male on one side and a 1 1/4" male on the other. If your two threads are male and female rather than both male, a bush or a reducing nipple is the part you want.
