100mm Yellow Tail Abrasive Suction Hose

The largest Yellow Tail, PSHYT100, is a high volume dewatering and quarry hose. It is sold as 100 mm and the published nominal bore is 102 mm, with an outside diameter of 118 mm, so size camlocks and clamps from those figures rather than the trade name. Minimum bend radius is 600 mm, which is a long sweep and needs planning at the pump. Working pressure is 0.3 MPa (43 psi) at 20°C with the same 600 mm Hg vacuum rating as the smaller bores.

Compatibility and fitting

• Uses 100 mm camlocks over the helix, clamped to the 118 mm outside diameter
• Lay the run out before charging it: a 600 mm bend radius means a tight corner has to be planned, not pulled in

Why is the pressure rating only 0.3 MPa at this size?

Because the force on the wall rises with the bore. At 102 mm the same construction holds 0.3 MPa (43 psi) where the 50 mm size holds 0.5 MPa (73 psi). On a high head discharge, check the pump curve against that figure before you connect.
