12.5mm Chemical Spray Hose

PHC12 is the larger of the two chemical spray hose bores at 12.5 mm, chosen where a long reel run or a boom sprayer would lose too much pressure through a 10 mm line. It is the same construction as the smaller bore, a PVC, nitrile and polymeric plasticiser tube and cover wound with high tenacity polyester yarn, and it carries the same 2.0 MPa (290 psi) working pressure and 4:1 safety factor. The hose conforms to AS 2070 and AS 2554.

Does the larger bore change the pressure rating?

No. Both the 10 mm and 12.5 mm sizes are rated 2.0 MPa (290 psi) at a 4:1 safety factor. The larger bore buys you flow and less pressure drop over a long run, not a higher ceiling at the pump.

How do I check chemical compatibility?

Ask the chemical supplier for their compatibility chart and look up PVC and nitrile. The tube resists a wide part of the agricultural list, but solvents, some acids and strong oxidisers need a different hose material.
