12mm (1/2") Clear Multi Purpose Hose

12mm clear braided PVC hose (part PHCMP12) is our 12.5 mm (1/2") multi-purpose hose for air, water, mild chemicals and food and beverage transfer. The clear PVC tube is reinforced with red-tracer high tenacity polyester yarn and finished with a UV-stabilised blue-tint cover, giving a working pressure of 16 bar (232 psi) at 20°C and conformance to AS/NZS 2554 and AS/NZS 2070 for food contact. It is cut per metre from 1 m, or supplied in 20 m coils, 100 m coils and 200 m reels, from our Brisbane warehouse. Full specifications are listed below.

Compatibility and fitting

The hose fits 12 mm (1/2") barbed hose tails in brass, stainless steel and poly, with BSP threads to suit taps, pumps and compressors. Secure each tail with a 13-25 mm or 14-27 mm clamp from our hose clamps. For an air line, fit hose-tail Nitto quick connect couplings so tools can be swapped without undoing the clamp.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use clear braided hose as a fuel hose? Not as a permanent fuel line; the hose is not rated for continuous fuel contact. Use SAE J30R7 rubber hose from our fuel line hose range instead.

Is it suitable for compressed air? Yes. At 16 bar (232 psi) working pressure it covers standard workshop compressor output, and the polyester braid stops the hose ballooning.
