150 mm Grey Plastiflex Ducting is grey PVC ducting reinforced with a steel wire helix. It is a main run size, carrying the combined flow from several machine branches back to the collector.

How do I size a main run?

Add the airflow of the branches that will run at once, not all of them. Most workshops run one or two machines at a time, and sizing for every machine at once buys duct you will never use.

Why a steel helix rather than PVC?

Steel holds the bore open against suction. On a long run or a strong extractor, a duct with a softer helix starts to collapse and chokes the airflow, which is the usual reason an extraction system underperforms.
