Description
Marine sanitation hose in 25 mm, part PSHSW25, is the intake and transfer size: the bore used between a pump and a tank, or on any compact installation where the toilet does not run the full 38 mm discharge. The supplier builds it from a white PVC blend with 20% nitrile content, which is what resists odour permeation through the wall, and sets a rigid PVC helix into the wall so the bore does not collapse under suction.
Key features
- 25 mm nominal bore with a 31.0 mm outside diameter
- High nitrile content blend: white PVC at 20% nitrile, with a rigid PVC helix
- Rated to 131 psi at 20°C
- Operating temperature -5°C to +60°C
- Minimum bend radius 120 mm
- Smooth bore, so waste does not catch on a corrugation
- Available cut from 2 m through to a full 20 m coil
Applications
- Intake runs between a marine toilet and a macerator or pump
- Transfer lines to a holding tank on a compact installation
- Caravan and motorhome sanitation plumbing
- Replacement of a hose that has started to smell in service
Compatibility and fitting
- Suits a 25 mm spigot; the toilet, tank and skin fitting on one boat are often three different sizes
- Two stainless clamps per joint is the usual marine practice; sizes are in the clamp range
- Vented loops, sink wastes and through-hull fittings are in skin fittings and marine products
- Step up to 38 mm for the discharge leg in the sanitation hose range
Will 25 mm hose fit a 38 mm toilet outlet?
No, and stepping the bore down mid-run is how blockages start. Match the hose to the spigot at each end of the leg and use a reducing fitting only where the equipment itself changes size.
How tight can the run be bent?
The supplier gives a minimum bend radius of 120 mm for this bore. Bent tighter than that the rigid helix distorts and the wall starts to flatten, which shows up as slow flow long before it shows up as a leak.
