Description
300 mm is the largest bore stocked in this construction, used on main collection trunks, big fume extraction runs and plant air intakes where the volume is beyond anything a workshop system moves. It is black synthetic rubber over a wire helix with a corrugated outer wall, working from -10°C to 125°C, and it is rated for dust, chip, air intake and non combustible fume extraction only.
Key features
- 300 mm inside diameter, the largest bore stocked
- Black synthetic rubber, wire helix reinforced
- Corrugated wall so a duct this size can still be routed
- -10°C to 125°C
- Abrasion resistant and UV resistant
- DRFH300, cut 1 m to 9 m, or a 10 m coil
Applications
- Main collection trunks on large systems
- Cyclone and baghouse connections
- Bulk fume extraction on non combustible processes
- Plant and generator air intake
- High volume ventilation runs
Compatibility and fitting
- Ordered on the bore, so it fits a 300 mm spigot or duct end
- Band it with a heavy worm drive clamp from the clamp range, seated in a corrugation
- Support the run properly; a 300 mm duct full of chip is a serious load on a joint
- Rigid duct should carry the distance, with this hose taking movement and alignment
Is it a two-person job to fit?
Usually, yes. A 300 mm duct is stiff enough to fight back while you are getting it onto a spigot, and the clamp needs to be seated properly all the way round before it is tightened, which is easier with someone holding the duct square.
How much length should I allow?
Allow enough that the duct is not stretched between the two connections. A flexible spool pulled tight transmits every bit of machine vibration straight into the joints at each end.
Smaller bores, from 40 mm up, are in black rubber air intake ducting.
