5.6mm (7/32") Rubber Vacuum Hose

5.6 mm (7/32") is the bore most windscreen washer feeds and engine vacuum lines are built around, which makes RVT7/32 the size workshops go through fastest. It is EPDM rather than a general purpose rubber, so it tolerates the heat cycling of an engine bay and does not glaze over where it passes near the exhaust manifold. Rated -40°C to 125°C with a maximum pressure of 50 psi.

Compatibility and fitting

• Push fit onto a 5.6 mm spigot; on a pressurised washer pump outlet add a small clamp from hose clamps
• Suits air, vacuum, washer fluid and coolant overflow, not fuel
• The 2.8 mm and 6.3 mm bores sit either side of it in the rubber vacuum hose range

Can I use it for a fuel line?

No. This is an EPDM vacuum and washer hose, and EPDM swells in petrol and diesel. A fuel line needs a nitrile tube to a fuel standard, which is a different product entirely.

Why 5.6 mm and not 6 mm?

The size comes from the imperial 7/32" the original equipment was built to. A nominal 6 mm hose is a loose fit on the same spigot, which is where washer lines start weeping.
