Description
PSHB050 is the 50 mm bore, the first of the bulk sizes and the usual choice for pumping waste oil out of a pit or a bulk tank. Outside diameter is 60.2 mm. The helix is doing serious work at this bore: a 50 mm hose has a large area for atmospheric pressure to push against, and without the rigid PVC helix the wall would close on the first proper lift. Working pressure is 0.6 MPa (87 psi) at 20°C, and the high nitrile compound resists mineral oils and animal fats.
Key features
- 50 mm inside diameter, 60.2 mm outside diameter
- Rigid PVC helix holds the bore open on a pump inlet
- High nitrile PVC for mineral oil and animal fat resistance
- Working pressure 0.6 MPa (87 psi) at 20°C
- Operating temperature -5°C to +60°C
- Extremely flexible for the bore, so it stows without fighting
- Cut 2 m to 15 m, or a 20 m coil
Applications
- Bulk waste oil suction from pits and tanks
- Environmental clean-up and spill recovery
- Septic and grease trap servicing
- Industrial chemical collection at volume
- Tanker loading and unloading lines
Compatibility and fitting
- Use 50 mm camlocks over the helix, clamped with a heavy band; see hose clamps
- At this bore support the hose end so the weight is not hanging on the pump inlet
- Where the load is gritty rather than oily, Yellow Tail abrasive suction hose is the harder wearing option
Can I use it on the discharge side too?
Yes, within the 87 psi rating. The helix does not stop it carrying pressure, it only adds vacuum resistance. What you cannot do is put an unhelixed delivery hose on the suction side.
