10mm Air Breathing Hose

This is a breathing air hose, so the standards are the specification, not a footnote: it conforms to AS/NZS 2299.1-2007 for occupational diving operations and AS/NZS 1716:2003 for respiratory protective devices. Do not substitute a general purpose air hose for it. The inner is white medical grade PVC, the outer is a UV stabilised high visibility yellow non-toxic PVC with a smooth finish, and the wall is reinforced with high tenacity polyester yarn. Nominal bore is 10 mm with a 17.0 mm outside diameter, rated 2.4 MPa (348 psi) at 20°C.

Compatibility and fitting

• Terminate with fittings appropriate to the breathing air system and rated for the 2.4 MPa working pressure
• The yellow outer is deliberate: it keeps the breathing air line visually distinct from every other hose on deck
• General compressed air runs should use blue and yellow PVC air hose instead

Can ordinary air hose be used for breathing air?

No. A general purpose air hose has no non-toxic inner requirement and no standard behind it for respirable air. This hose is built to AS/NZS 2299.1 and AS/NZS 1716 with a medical grade PVC inner, and that is the whole reason it exists as a separate product.
