Description

These are moulded fuel filler elbows for the short, awkward run between a filler neck and a tank, where a straight hose would kink and hold fuel. They meet SAE 30R6 and are non-wire reinforced, with a petroleum-resistant nitrile tube, tough textile cord reinforcement and a smooth oil resistant cover. Working pressure is 20 PSI, which is the point to understand: this is a fill and vent hose, not a pressurised fuel feed. Temperature rating is -40°C to +100°C, and -40°C to +51°C on bio-diesel B20.

Key features

  • Bores of 38 mm (1 1/2"), 50 mm (2") and 57 mm (2 1/4")
  • Available as 90 degree and 45 degree elbows in each size
  • Meets SAE 30R6 specifications
  • Petroleum-resistant nitrile tube, textile cord reinforcement, oil resistant cover
  • Non-wire reinforced
  • Working pressure 20 PSI
  • Temperature rating -40°C to +100°C, and -40°C to +51°C on bio-diesel B20
  • Suits gasoline, gasohol blends of ethanol and methanol, ethers, diesel and bio-diesel to B20

Applications

  • Auxiliary fuel tanks on recreational vehicles
  • Filler neck to tank runs on passenger cars and trucks
  • Long range tank installations on four-wheel drives
  • Diesel and bio-diesel filler plumbing
  • Replacing a perished original filler hose

Compatibility and fitting

  • Clamp both legs with fuel-rated clamps; see hose clamps
  • Because it is non-wire reinforced, support the elbow rather than letting the tank hang on it
  • Straight filler and barrier fuel hose is on USCG approved fuel filler hose

Can it be used on the fuel feed line?

No. At 20 PSI working pressure this is a filler and vent hose. A pressurised feed from a pump needs a hose rated for that pressure and for continuous fuel contact.

What does B20 mean for the rating?

Bio-diesel is harder on the tube. The hose is rated to bio-diesel blends up to B20, and on B20 the temperature ceiling drops from +100°C to +51°C.
