Radiator hose supplied in 3 ft (915 mm) lengths, in nineteen bores from 20 mm up to 76 mm, so a coolant run can be replaced without buying a coil. The tube is synthetic rubber on high strength synthetic cord, under a black smooth cover that resists abrasion and weather. Working pressure is 5 bar and the temperature range is -35 to +98°C, which covers a pressurised cooling system on a car, truck or plant engine.

Compatibility and fitting

• Measure the spigot outside diameter and match it to the hose bore, then clamp; see hose clamps
• Where the run has to turn a corner, use a moulded elbow rather than forcing a straight length
• Heater sized bores are on rubber heater hose

Does the stock code match the bore?

Not exactly, and this is the usual ordering mistake. RRH019 is a 20 mm bore, RRH040 is 41 mm and RRH045 is 44 mm. Order by the millimetre bore in the listing, not by the number in the code.

Is 5 bar enough for a modern cooling system?

Yes with margin. A pressurised system is held by the radiator cap, which is well below 5 bar, so the rating covers normal running and the surge when a thermostat opens.
