200mm Black Rubber Air intake Ducting

200 mm is a main trunk bore, carrying everything several machines throw at it back to the collector. Read the scope before it goes in: the supplier rates this ducting for wood chips, sawdust, dust, air intake and non combustible fume extraction. Anything that could ignite in the airstream needs a duct specified for it. The construction is black synthetic rubber on a wire helix with a corrugated outer wall, working from -10°C to 125°C.

Compatibility and fitting

• Bore is 200 mm, over a 200 mm spigot or flange stub
• Clamp in a valley of the corrugation using a band from the clamp range
• Hang the run; a 200 mm duct carrying material is heavy enough to pull a joint apart
• Where the duty is clean air only, grey Plastiflex ducting is the lighter option

What does non combustible fume extraction mean in practice?

It means the duct is rated for fume that will not ignite or support combustion in the airstream. Hot work, sparks and solvent vapour are a different problem and need ducting and a system designed around them, so check the process before specifying this hose.
