32mm Layflat Hose Blue

Blue layflat hose in a 32 mm bore, SKU LF032B, is the discharge line for small transfer and irrigation pumps. It lies flat on the reel and rounds out once water is in it, and at 100 psi (6.9 bar) it holds the highest working pressure of any bore in the blue range. Run it downstream of the pump only. There is nothing rigid in a layflat wall, so the moment a pump tries to draw through it the hose folds shut and loses prime.

Can 32 mm layflat hose go on the suction side of a pump?

No. The wall carries textile cord for pressure but nothing rigid to resist vacuum, so it shuts flat as soon as the pump draws on it. Suction duty needs a helix-reinforced hose instead.

Why is the 32 mm bore rated higher than the larger sizes?

Pressure acts across the area of the bore, so the same wall thickness holds more in a narrow hose. This size takes 100 psi where the 63 mm and larger bores are rated 60 psi.
