32mm Rubber Petrol & Oil Suction Hose

32mm rubber petrol and oil suction hose (RPOS032mm) is the size that suits a workshop transfer rig: enough bore to keep a mid-sized pump primed, still light enough to lift into a drum by hand. The steel wire helix runs the full length inside the synthetic cord reinforcement, which is what separates this from the delivery hose of the same bore and price.

Compatibility and fitting

• Recommended clamps are SC043 and the stainless SC043SS
• Two clamps at each tail is normal on a suction leg, because an air leak here stops the pump priming
• Compare the pressure-side build in petrol and oil delivery hose
• Fit clamps in the valley between helix turns, never over the crest

What makes a suction line fail to prime?

Air, almost always. A loose clamp, a cut that is not square or a hose that has collapsed will all let air in ahead of the fuel, and the pump will run without drawing.
