38mm Rubber Petrol & Oil Suction Hose

38mm rubber petrol and oil suction hose (RPOS038mm) is the standard draw hose on farm and plant refuelling pumps. It runs from the bulk tank or drum to the pump inlet, and the steel wire helix wound through the wall stops the bore closing while the pump is pulling. The tube is compounded for petrol, diesel and mineral oils at 55% aromatic content, and the cover is oil resistant so it survives being dropped in a bund.

How do I tell suction and delivery hose apart on the shelf?

Feel the wall. A suction hose has a ridged spiral you can trace with a thumb, because the steel helix is under the cover. A delivery hose is smooth, cord reinforced only, and belongs after the pump.
