50mm Layflat Hose Red

LF050R is the 50 mm red layflat: 51 mm nominal bore, 57 mm outside diameter, and a 150 psi (10.3 bar) rating at 20°C. Compare that with the blue 50 mm at 65 psi and the reason for the extra wall thickness is obvious. This is the size for fire-fighting and cartage pumps that push real pressure. Like every layflat, it is a delivery hose and collapses if it is put on a suction port.

How much more pressure does red take than blue at 50 mm?

The red hose is rated 150 psi at 20°C and the blue is rated 65 psi, and the red wall is thicker: 57 mm outside diameter against 54 mm on the same 51 mm nominal bore.

Will 50 mm fittings still fit the thicker wall?

Yes. The bore is unchanged at 51 mm nominal, so a 50 mm hose tail or camlock shank goes in as normal. Only the outside diameter grows, which matters when sizing the clamp.
