Description
6mm fuel hose (part RFUEL06) is a 6.3 mm (1/4") bore rubber hose for low-pressure petrol, diesel and oil lines, made to SAE J30R6 and SAE J30R7. The black nitrile rubber tube is compounded to resist diesel, oil and unleaded petrol, including ethanol and methanol blends, and the smooth synthetic rubber cover stands up to fuel, vapour, moisture, weather and ozone. It is rated to 3.4 bar (50 psi) at 20°C, works from -20°C to +100°C and is cut per metre from 1 m, with 50 m coils and 100 m reels, from our Brisbane warehouse. Full specifications are listed below.
Key features
- 6.3 mm (1/4") inside diameter, 13 mm outside diameter
- Meets and exceeds SAE J30R6 and SAE J30R7
- Working pressure 3.4 bar (50 psi) at 20°C
- Operating temperature -20°C to +100°C
- Black nitrile rubber blend tube resists petrol, diesel, oil and ethanol or methanol fuel blends
- High tensile synthetic braid reinforcement
- Weather and ozone resistant cover for under-bonnet and exposed runs
Applications
- Carburettor feed and return lines on cars, motorcycles and outboards
- Fuel lines on mowers, generators, pumps and small engines
- Diesel supply and return lines on low-pressure systems
- Fuel vapour and evaporative lines
- Oil drain and breather lines
Compatibility and fitting
Push the hose over 1/4" (6 mm) barbed fittings and clamp with an 11-18 mm or 11-22 mm hose clamp; the thin-band sizes in our Tridon hose clamps suit the 13 mm outside diameter. For 90 degree turns use the 1/4" barbed elbow from our brass fittings. Fuel injection systems run well above 50 psi and need EFI-rated hose, and boat fuel fills need USCG approved fuel filler hose; both are in our fuel line hose range.
Frequently asked questions
Is SAE J30R7 hose suitable for fuel injection? No. J30R7 is a low-pressure specification, rated here to 3.4 bar (50 psi). Use EFI-rated hose for injected engines.
Can I use it with ethanol-blended petrol? The tube is compounded for ethanol and methanol blends. Inspect the hose regularly, as with any rubber fuel line.
Other bores are in our SAE J30R7 fuel hose collection, alongside the full automotive hoses range.
