6mm (1/4") Rubber Multi Purpose Hose

6mm (1/4") rubber multi purpose hose (part RMPT06) is a common bore for workshop air lines and light spray work, where the hose is handled constantly and the extra millimetre over 5 mm gives useful flow without adding weight. The tube is black smooth synthetic rubber and electrically non-conductive, under a braided synthetic cord reinforcement and a red oil, ozone and weather resistant cover.

Compatibility and fitting

• Fits a 6mm hose tail; secure with a hose clamp, two per end under pressure
• Brass and stainless tails to suit are in the brass fittings range
• For petrol, diesel or fuel vapour use SAE 30R7 fuel hose, never this hose
• Keep within the -25°C to +100°C range; the cover hardens outside it

Why is a red hose non-conductive?

The red cover carries no static wire and the compound is electrically non-conductive, which is what you want on an air line around fuel vapour or in a spray booth. Do not treat that as an earthing solution in its own right.
