6mm (1/4") SAER6 Hydraulic Push on Hose 400psi

Part SAER604 is the 6 mm (1/4") bore in our SAE R6 push on range, rated to a maximum 28 bar (400 psi). The hose pushes onto a barbed push on fitting and grips it, so a low pressure line can be made up on the machine with no crimping press anywhere near it. One textile braid over an oil resistant synthetic rubber tube, under a weather, oil and abrasion resistant cover.

Compatibility and fitting

• Pushes onto a 6 mm push on barb; no ferrule and no crimping press needed
• Keep the circuit well under 28 bar (400 psi): this is a low pressure hose and the figure is a ceiling, not a target
• Not a substitute for wire braid hose on a pressure line, so use single wire hydraulic hose there
• Guard rub points with HDPE spiral guard

Do push on fittings need a clamp?

The barb profile on a push on fitting is designed to hold this hose without one, which is the point of the system. If a line is being pulled or vibrated hard, a clamp over the barb does no harm and adds security.

Why is the air rating lower than the fluid rating?

Compressed air is stored energy, and hot air ages a rubber tube faster than oil does. The supplier caps this hose at +70°C on air against +100°C otherwise, so size an air line to the lower figure.
