Description
6mm US Coast Guard approved marine fuel hose (RFUSCG06) is the smallest bore in this barrier range, used on small-bore feed and return lines and on portable tanks. It is Continental marine fuel line approved to USCG/SAE J1527 Type A1 and ISO 7840-A1 with CE marking, and it meets both USCG and IMCI requirements for Type A1 service. On a boat the reason for a barrier hose is simple: petrol vapour that permeates through an ordinary fuel hose collects in an enclosed bilge.

Applications
- Small-bore fuel feed lines
- Return lines on injected outboards

- Primer bulb and filter tails
Compatibility and fitting
- Match the 6 mm bore to the barb on the fitting rather than to the pipe thread behind it
- Fill and vent runs are a different approval: see USCG approved fuel filler hose, which is Type A2
- Use marine grade stainless hose clamps, sized so the band closes on the hose rather than bottoming out
- Replace the whole length rather than splicing a repair into a fuel line
What does Type A1 mean on a fuel hose?
It is the approval class printed on the hose under SAE J1527 and ISO 7840. This range carries the Type A1 approval, which is what a marine gasoline feed and vent line is specified to. Fill hose is approved separately as Type A2.
Five bores are stocked in the marine barrier fuel hose range.
